I finally bought one of those stylus for the iPad from the company called "Pogo". It works pretty good. I used SketchBook Pro for the iPad. It turned out to be a cool sketch. The cool thing about it is that you can export it as a PSD file and finish it up in Photoshop or Sketchbook Pro . . .

Disney Studio Tour!!!

My friend(Josh) and I had a studio tour at the Disney Animation Studio yesterday that was amazing. We got to see some cool stuff and the some of the work flow they go though for production. Oh yeah, and Raven Symone was walking out as we were walking in . . . . . Anyway we had the chance to have a little one on one with one the senior artists there. He was very motivating and I could tell he knew we were serious about our craft and wanted to do and know every aspect of our field to make us better artist. Everything that came out his mouth we held on to for life, because animation is our life and we want it to be apart of ours. It was very easy to talk to him on any level, he was so laid back and real. Im so glad he took the time out his busy schedule to add a little spark to our fire/passion for animation . . . . Nothing but great things to come from this day on . . . . . . . It really is a magical place HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

I've been drawing alot with markers, then going back with 20% grey just to make some value. I think I need to step up to 40%. I like how it looks on the recycled paper. I'm hoping this will help me when I start making my storyboards!

Five Bucks Coffee: Character Line-Up

Here are the rough character line-ups for Five Bucks Coffee. (left to right) Charlie, Karla and The Boss. There is also a dragon . . . LOL! I know, I know. Your like, "what do these people, coffee and a dragon have in common?" Well the Main character Charlie is a shy guy who has a crush on a girl(Karla) who works at his local coffee shop FIVE BUCKS COFFEE. Her boss is always angry! Charlie is sometimes consumed by his imagination and it takes him on crazy adventures . . . sometimes rescuing Karla from ferocious dragons!

These are sketches of the main character for a short I'm working on. It's about this dude and this girl at his local coffee shop 5-Bucks, that he's very much interest in, BUT is too shy to approach! Sketching out the storyboards right now. They seem to coming together very well. I will definitely be using it for my new portfolio.

Rookie cop over heres is killing the donuts double time as always. Then his boss is yelling looking for him," GET IN HERE CHARLIE!!!" He must have gotten jelly filling on some paperwork again! LOL

I skribbled these up after watching Alice and Wonderland! The MADD Hatter LOL! I like showing emotions that go from 0-100! The Hatter is all good sipping his tea, but freaks out when someone doesn't share his same excitement about it! LOL

First Time drawing with a wax pencil

I was visiting my brother Joshua Stirling(http://makeitmuv.blogspot.com/), who just graduated from Full Sail, when I came across his wax pencil. These were some of the sketches I did while we were waiting for our food. I like how they came out. My biggest problem drawing is that I draw too light. They wax pencil forces me to go darker! Sad part is, when I got back home to LA I lost the pencil! LOL! Serves me right though . . . he didnt know I took it LOL!

!I bought a 3pack($7) of these small moleskins from Barnes and Nobles. They're nice and small enough to just throw in you back pocket . . . or shirt pocket even. Im trying to take on a new approach to me life drawings . . . Keeping it VERY loose and using the poses of the people and not just copying EXACTLY what I see!

This a closer look at my madness! LOL! Coloring is still new to me. I just focusing on keeping it simple for now. The Link picture(previous post) is actually one of the first times I have drawn and colored an entire scene. I still have ways to go, but I'm happy I was able to get this far.

I love me some Link. This will be the one of the first drawings I will do a background for too. This will definitely be a cool character for me to animate(I know I say that all the time) I had to give him a little attitude. Im an 80's kid and in the old cartoon he was always trying to get a kiss from Zelda. I still laugh at his quote,"Excuuuuuuuse me princess" LOL Hope you like it!
